October - Full Moon

We all know that the moon governs the water element, it governs all the water on the earth. Water element is associated with emotions and when the moon is full like this, especially on the supermoon, like the one tonight, it brings something called the king tide, the king tide, which means when the tide comes even higher than usual, okay when the moon is so luminous and bright and strong. And with the king tide also comes, you know, the strong tide of emotion. It's quite common during the days before, on and directly after the full moon, that if you pay attention, you might notice that people are a little bit more susceptible to strong emotions, either when you're driving or when you're in the office, or just in general, social, romantic, or nuclear family relationships. That can always be that extra little bit of tension. And the word lunatic actually comes from this observation, when the moon is full, that the tide of emotion can quickly come to the surface can you quickly come over the top in fact. And it can also be the time when the moon is full that we face some challenges and the moon is literally the full moon is shining light into the darkness. It is sometimes often referred to as the midnight sun.

I have been sitting up the last three nights just moon bathing and moon gazing watching the moon traverse the lake. I live in Montreux and I have this nice view on the lake. People often report to me that they don't sleep so much when the moon is high, when the moon is full. And there is something about it. There's always something about the full moon. It brings the fullness of everything that we are engaged in.

And it's like a test of faith, it kind of brings, this opportunity if you live to try to ride those strong waves of energy, whether it's emotional energy, kind of psychic energy, strong thoughts, strong emotions or strong experiences with as much grace as possible. And, there are things that we can do. There are a lot of exercises in yogic science, which offers the opportunity to really strengthen our nervous system, to strengthen the glandular system, to polish the lens of perception. And to be able to come into that kind of comfortable in the sovereign seed of self awareness. So that whatever happens, whatever waves of energy or emotion might be happening, whatever kind of chaos might be coming around, you know that we're able somehow to maintain that sovereign seed in the eye of the storm.
